The Social Science Department Materials series consists of fourteen subseries: Social Center; General Education Board; Writings by Charles S. Johnson; Writings by other authors; Writings by unidentified authors; Writings of chapters in an unidentified book; Reports; Notes; Studies; Surveys; Committees; Publications; Race Relations; and Miscellaneous. The Presidential Administration Records cover the years 1946-1957. There are seven subseries within this series: Inauguration; Board of Trustees; Admissions; Reports and Studies; Faculty Records; Faculty/Staff Correspondence; and Financial Records. The Miscellaneous Materials are divided into four subseries: Fisk University Materials; Non-Fisk University Related Materials; Art Programs; and Publications with Mention of Fisk University. Oversized Materials contain large documents, photographs, and audio and visual recordings (some fragile) which needed separation from the rest of the collection.
